Teen Choice Awards là giải thưởng giải trí (điện ảnh/ truyền hình, âm nhạc, thời trang…) thường niên của Mỹ của kênh Fox. Ra đời lần đầu tiên năm 1999, đến nay Teen Choice Awards vẫn là một trong những giải thưởng được yêu thích vì gần gũi với đời sống văn hóa nghệ thuật đại chúng. |
Ông hoàng phòng vé chiếm lĩnh
Giải Teen Choice là giải bình chọn của khán giả trẻ từ 13-20 tuổi - đối tượng áp đảo thị phần xem phim rạp hiện nay. Năm nay những bom tấn thành công trong mùa hè vừa rồi, từ Logan (doanh thu 617 triệu USD) đến The Fate of the furious (doanh thu 1,2 tỉ USD…) đều có mặt.
Các phim thuộc thể loại khoa học viễn tưởng/thần thoại như Kong: Skull island (doanh thu 566 triệu USD) hay Beauty and the beast (doanh thu 1,2 tỉ USD) cũng lọt vào đề cử phim hay nhất. Một số đại diện từ năm ngoái như Arrival hay Doctor Strange cũng góp mặt.
Riêng thể loại phim tâm lý chỉ có mỗi Hidden figures là thành công bất thường với 230 triệu USD dịp Giáng sinh năm ngoái. Khá bất ngờ khi La La Land - bộ phim hao tốn giấy mực vào năm ngoái - lại không có tên trong bất kỳ hạng mục nào.

Cuộc chiến của mỹ nam và mỹ nữ
Có lẽ hiếm giải thưởng nào đề cử nhiều gương mặt trẻ đẹp nhất nhì Hollywood hiện nay như Teen Choice.
Trong số đó ngôi sao mới nổi Gal Gadot, người đang làm mưa làm gió tại phòng vé Bắc Mỹ qua hình tượng Nữ thần chiến binh, nhận tới hai đề cử cho cả hai phim Wonder woman và Keeping Up with the Joneses.
Gadot gần như không có đối thủ trong hạng mục nữ diễn viên hành động, riêng ở hạng mục Nữ diễn viên hài cô sẽ cạnh tranh với các gương mặt kỳ cựu như Ellen DeGeneres (Finding Dory), Jennifer Hudson (Sandy Wexler)…
Amy Adams - minh tinh trượt Oscar hồi đầu năm với diễn xuất tuyệt vời trong Arrival - có thể mang về giải thưởng Nữ chính thể loại phim khoa học viễn tưởng khi các đối thủ của cô đều yếu thế hơn: Brie Larson (Kong: Skull Island), Zoe Saldana (Guardians of the Galaxy 2)…
Chris Pine, một nửa của Gal Gadot trong Wonder woman, sẽ đại diện bảng Nam diễn viên hành động “đấu” cùng lão đại Johnny Depp (Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead men tell no tales) và các đàn anh dày dạn kinh nghiệm cùng cơ hội chiến thắng cao hơn như Hugh Jackman (Logan) hay Dwayne Johnson (The Fate of the furious).
Mặc dù có màn trình diễn nhạt nhòa song Tom Hiddleston (Kong: Skull Island) vẫn dễ dàng có tên trong đề cử nam chính phim khoa học viễn tưởng với Jeremy Renner (Arrival), Chris Pratt (Guardians of the Galaxy 2)…
Kết quả Teen Choice sẽ công bố vào 13-8 nhưng chỉ còn hai ngày nữa (22-6) để bỏ phiếu bầu chọn người thắng cuộc.
